Academic Center for Exploratory Students
Discover your educational interests by exploring your possibilities. Nearly a quarter of all first-year students are accepted to UConn's Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES) program, enabling them to complete Common Curriculum courses, reflect on academic and professional experiences, and stay on track before entering a major.
Some ACES students want time to discover options before committing to a major, while others plan to apply to a specific school or college later in their academic careers.
ACES is also the academic home of UConn's pre-professional majors. If you plan to major in Education, Sport Management or Social Work, you will enroll in ACES before applying to your school of interest during your sophomore year.
With expert academic advising and a staff eager to help guide your self-exploration, ACES will help you navigate the most efficient route to your selected field of study.
